Dr. Samad brings extensive international experience in academia, industry, and research. His areas of expertise include experimental thermo-fluids, aerodynamics, heat transfer, rotorcraft aeromechanics, aircraft icing physics, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies, and advanced flow diagnostic techniques.
During his career, Dr. Samad has worked on a broad range of aerospace and thermal-fluid research projects involving UAV icing mitigation, electrothermal and plasma-based anti-icing systems, supersonic aerodynamics, gas turbine engine analyses, rotor heat transfer, and experimental flow diagnostics. His research combines advanced experimental methods such as Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), thermal imaging, high-speed flow visualization, and aerodynamic instrumentation with practical engineering design and testing.
Dr. Samad has taught numerous undergraduate and graduate engineering courses in thermodynamics, heat transfer, aerodynamics, vibrations, dynamics, aircraft design, and experimental flow diagnostics at AUBH, Iowa State University, ÉTS, and Concordia University. His research work was published and presented in leading aerospace and thermal-fluid venues. He has also delivered invited seminars at institutions including NASA Glenn Research Center and many other US universities.
