The Kingdom of Bahrain, with its unique geographical location besides its coastal abundant resources offers a worthy chance for adopting renewable energy to support sustainable smart cities. World climate forms a press on the world countries to change their policy towards applying new strategies to minimize the impact of environmental issues through harnessing renewable energy resources like Tidal energy. The current study aims to develop and assess the power electric generator based on seawater of tidal energy to empower green power generation and minimize dependence on fossil fuels to fulfill Bahrain’s plan. It presents a mechanical system of tidal power generator to convert ocean wave kinetic energy into electricity. The system design is robust, effective, eco-friendly, and at the same time reduces marine ecosystem disruption. The system also involves a modern control framework and energy conservation to optimize performance and maximize generation. The system was validated with collected data from selected sites in Bahrain from some pilot projects. The findings showed the feasibility of the IRPG system that minimizes greenhouse gas emissions in a step that supports Bahrain’s policy towards applying sustainability in green energy generation and other sectors. © 2023 IEEE.
