
The Board of Trustees of the American University of Bahrain (AUBH) has appointed Dr. Wafa Almansoori as President of the University, following her tenure as Interim President.
The appointment reflects the Board’s confidence in Dr Almansoori’s leadership and her extensive experience in higher education, as AUBH enters its next phase of institutional development.
A member of AUBH’s senior leadership since its early years, Dr. Almansoori has played a significant role in shaping the University’s development and strengthening its position within Bahrain’s higher education sector. During her tenure at AUBH, Dr Almansoori has contributed to the University’s growth, with strong focus on academic quality, student success, institutional effectiveness, and building productive relationships with national and international partners.
Mr. Hisham Al-Saie, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American University of Bahrain, said: “Dr. Almansoori’s appointment reflects the Board’s confidence in her leadership, expertise, and ability to guide AUBH into its next stage of development. Her deep understanding of the University, combined with her knowledge of the higher education landscape in Bahrain and internationally, provides a strong foundation for the future. Commenting on her appointment, Dr. Almansoori said: “I am honored by the confidence placed in me by the Board of Trustees and fully recognize the responsibility that comes with leading AUBH into its next chapter. Dr. Almansoori expressed her appreciation to the Higher Education Council for its continued support and guidance and emphasized AUBH’s commitment to maintaining a strong and constructive relationship with the Council.
She also acknowledged the important role of the Education & Training Quality Authority in advancing quality and excellence across Bahrain’s education sector and reaffirmed AUBH’s commitment to maintaining high standards and continuous improvement.
