AUBH Celebrates Entrepreneurship Week 2025 with Executive Dialogues and Innovation Competition for Students

The American University of Bahrain marked Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025, held from 17 to 24 November, with a curated program of events and activities designed to deepen the entrepreneurial mindset among students. This initiative sought to equip them with the knowledge and confidence required to pursue their aspirations and to inspire them to embark on their own entrepreneurial journeys.

As part of the week’s agenda, the university hosted an exclusive session featuring Eng. Ahmed Ali Al Ammadi, Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, one of Bahrain’s most notable and influential real estate development companies. The session offered AUBH students a valuable opportunity to gain practical insights and applied skills in the areas of innovation, urban development, and entrepreneurship.

The discussion provided students with a distinctive opportunity to engage directly with one of the foremost leaders in Bahrain’s real estate sector and to gain forward-looking perspectives on the future of urban innovation within the Kingdom. Eng. Al Ammadi examined the shifting landscape of urban development and outlined the pivotal role played by major entities such as Diyar Al Muharraq in creating sustainable urban communities that address the needs of future generations while supporting economic and social advancement. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment.

Also, AUBH hosted Bahraini entrepreneur Sarah Sultan, Co-Founder of ‘Beyond Catering Boutique’, who delivered an inspiring session titled “From Challenges to Impact.” During her talk, Ms. Sarah shared her professional journey, highlighting how she combined her background in mechanical engineering with her passion for the culinary world to lead one of Bahrain’s most innovative boutique catering ventures to deliver elevated culinary experiences. The session offered students the opportunity to learn from a real Bahraini success story and to engage in an interactive Q&A segment.

The week also featured a high school innovation competition that brought together students from several schools across the Kingdom, including Riffa Views International School, Al Hekma International School, Abdulrahman Kanoo International School, Bahrain Bayan School, Ibn Khuldoon National School, and Naseem International School. The students presented creative solutions addressing real-world challenges faced by the business sector.

At the conclusion of the competition, the winners were announced. Al Hekma International School secured first place, followed by Riffa Views International School in second place, while Naseem International School won third place.

Dr. Fatema Alaali, Dean of the College of Business and Management at the American University of Bahrain, affirmed that the university remains committed to commemorating Global Entrepreneurship Week each year as part of its mission to empower students to learn from inspiring Bahraini success stories and to benefit from the expertise of accomplished professionals across diverse fields.

Dr. Alaali said, “Such initiatives reinforce the university’s position as a leading educational institution dedicated to preparing a generation capable of confidently shaping the future across multiple sectors.
