AUBH Hosts Orientation Day for MBA Students

Forging a leadership path in business and providing graduate students with maximum flexibility and preparedness for adaptability in rapidly changing environments.

(Riffa, Bahrain)- The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) hosted an orientation day for students pursuing their Master of Business Administration (MBA), within Bahrain’s first American-model co-educational University. The students were given a full university orientation, including a welcome speech from Dr. Bradley J. Cook, President; Dr. Jeff Zabudsky, Provost; Dr. Amal Al Awadhi, Director of Student Affairs; and Dr. Lorraine Cowley, MBA Coordinator.

The students enrolled in AUBH’s first post-graduate program will benefit from the University’s holistic approach to education, which focuses on creating well-rounded and industry agile graduates. The session started with an overview about the general academic regulations, university policies, and available support clubs and services. Additionally, students were introduced to university life through a campus tour and demonstrations. This orientation session, held every semester, is aimed at helping new students adjust to AUBH, meet their peers, and interact with university faculty and administration teams.

Designed for those who wish to advance in their careers, or for recent graduates to hone their business and management skills, this uniquely data-driven program will reinforce business fundamentals through a strong foundation of corporate finance, economics, marketing, and strategy. The AUBH MBA in consultation with the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and industry partners from several fields around the region, serves multiple sectors while providing specific skills for management and real-world challenges. The program provides new opportunities for students to personalize their educational experiences and complements AUBH’s growing portfolio of professional graduate programs.

Dr. Bradley J. Cook, AUBH President commented: “I very much enjoyed welcoming our new cohort of MBA Students. I am sure this cohort will do remarkable things and I congratulate them all on the continuation of their university journey today.”

This two-year program covers concentrations such as Leadership for Innovation in Global Contexts; Data Analysis and Mining for Business; People Analytics for Leaders; and Intercultural Communication in Business.

The design of the program is aimed at making this new chapter for all those interested as seamless as possible. The experience combines flexibility, executive-and leadership-focused curriculum taught by world-class faculty, and the opportunity to build community among students and alumni.

Dr. Jeff Zabudsky, AUBH Provost commented, “Opening up a wealth of leadership opportunities is one of our main incentives behind this launch. The AUBH MBA can accelerate a corporate career path in cross-regional and global industries; exploring the latest business trends, the newest management tools and techniques, and challenging students to improve networks and collaboration, through a data-driven curriculum. We hope to foster a new generation of executives who will forge a leadership path in business and make our industries more equitable.”

The AUBH MBA program will be offered outside of regular working hours to accommodate the schedules of busy, mid-career professionals.
