The American University of Bahrain Celebrates Education Week with an Insightful Forum on “Education in the AI Era

(Riffa, Bahrain) In celebration of the International Day of Education and in line with AUBH ‘s Education Week, the American University of Bahrain hosted a thought-provoking forum on its campus exploring “Education in the AI Era”. The forum took center stage, engaging students, faculty, academicians, and industry experts, in discussions that unravel the transformative role of artificial intelligence in shaping the future of learning.

The forum featured several keynote speeches, a panel discussion, and a Q&A session that aimed at providing the audience with valuable insights about the future of education. Keynote speakers included Dr. Tariq Al Sindi, Secretary General of the Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education; Professor Vangelis Tsiligkiris, Associate Professor at Nottingham Business School, and Dr. Nina Abdulrazzak, Associate Professor at AUBH. The discussed topics included “The Role of Micro Credential in Enabling Flexible Learning Pathways, “Education for Sustainability”, and “Reimagining Education in a Transformative Age”. This discussion aimed at fostering a collective understanding of how to navigate and harness the transformative power of artificial intelligence for the future of learning and skill development.

Moderated by Dr. Wafa Almansoori, Vice President of Institutional Research and Assessment at AUBH, the panel discussion brought together a diverse range of voices from academics and students from both AUBH and MIT, who delivered compelling conversations, providing deep insights into the integration of artificial intelligence in education.

The panel discussion allowed the audience to explore the multifaceted impact of AI in education. The topics discussed ranged from ethical considerations of AI in the classroom to practical applications that can empower the next generation of learners. The presence of international representatives on this panel helped share perspectives on global advancements in AI and their implications for the future of education. The collaborative exchange fostered a rich dialogue on best practices and future collaborations between organizations and businesses.
