His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, attended the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of the American University of Bahrain (AUBH)on Monday, June 19, at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, held under his patronage.
His Highness highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to invest in education as part of its comprehensive development agenda, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
His Highness congratulated the graduates and commended their efforts and persistence in completing their studies, wishing them success in their future endeavors and in serving the Kingdom.
His Highness presented the certificates to the graduates, while outstanding students received the “Best Academic Achievement” award presented by Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), Eskan Bank, and Batelco (Bahrain Telecommunications Company).
These awards were presented to the valedictorian students – Razan Alhuwaider, graduate of the College of Business and Management, Maryam Al Nasheet graduate of the College of Engineering, and Shaikha Alhanoof Al Khalifa, graduate of the College of Media and Design respectively.
For his part, the President of AUBH, Dr Bradley J. Cook, expressed his gratitude to Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman for his patronage of AUBH’s first graduation ceremony.
Dr Cook highlighted that the university aims to provide students with an integrated American education system in line with regional and international standards.
Dr Cook emphasised the university’s commitment to further develop its wide-ranging goals, adding that AUBH is among the few universities in the GCC and Middle East region accredited by US institutions.
The Dean of Academic Affairs in Bahrain, Dr Jeff Zabudsky, highlighted that the university’s first graduation ceremony demonstrates its commitment to a high standard of quality education. In this regard, he noted the university’s academic developments, especially the adoption of new academic programs that align with the directives from the Higher Education Council and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
